| What is your perception of the
Harrisburg Humane Society? Have you dealt with them personally? I have dealt with them indirectly. I have three cats and two are strays. My family and I are in favor of animal rescue, and we don’t purchase anything from pet stores. I wish [animal shelters] could be no-kill, but that would be in an ideal world. –Lynne K.  I dropped a cat off [at the Humane Society] once. I believe they do a lot of good, although I don’t really know their procedures. –G.D. I like the Humane Society. I have never had to drop an animal off; I just went to see what kind of dogs they had. Every time I visit I feel sad, nobody seems to come for the animals and I feel bad leaving without one. –Alan Moore No, I’ve never dealt with them. I hear a lot of people complaining about [the Humane Society] though; I think they could do a better job. –M.C.  I got a stray cat from them about 10 years ago. I know they house [the animals], but they don’t pick them up or respond to phone calls. –John I don’t think much of them. Years ago, they wouldn’t come pick up dogs we were calling them about and wanted us to bring them in. Then, we reported a pony with sled runner feet, and they didn’t do anything about that.
