To the Editor:
I read your magazine pretty regularly, and sometimes keep back issues if
it contains something I want to review later. A past issue of MODE (Oct.
12, 2000), contained an article: HERO ROT, about a convicted prisoner
(Michael Lloyd) who was sentenced to prison for crimes he was convicted
of, but later turned “informant” which consequently assisted the FBI
and other law enforcement agencies to solve other crimes and even to
prevent some planned murders.
As a result of his informing and risking
his life to help the Feds, he was kept in prison, apparently way past
his release date so as to protect him from retaliation by the “mob.”
So, I’m extremely curious about what his status is right now? When
your article was published last Oct., he was still in prison awaiting
Gov. Tom Ridge’s approval of the PENNSYLVANIAS BOARD OF PARDON’S
recommendation for his release.
I, like so many other people find the treatment towards him by his
incarcerators as being totally appalling and indicative of the distrust
towards so much of our law enforcement and judical organizations.
So, if you have any updated information on Mr. Lloyd’s situation, or
have any recommendations about anything I can do to help “speed-up”
his judicial reviewing process, please let me know at your convenience.
Thanks for your time and understanding in this matter.
