Halloween, (The Movie)
Capitol Theatre
October 28 and October 29
Given four stars, and called by Roger Ebert an "absolutely merciless thriller" comparable "to Psycho," John Carpenter’s Halloween has long been a both a horror — and a Halloween holiday — classic. The forerunner to the teen scream movies of today, the film tells the tale of young Mike Myers, child killer of his teenage sister who, after years in a mental institution, escapes to terrorize his town on Halloween. Starring a then up-and-coming Jamie Lee Curtis, the 1978 classic has more than held its own in over the past 20 years, spawning some seven sequels, including the 20th anniversary continuation, Halloween: H20. A new entry into the collection, the eighth sequel, Halloween: H2K, is said to now be in production.

The film will be shown at the Capitol Theatre in York on Saturday, October 28 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, October 29 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $4.

Don’t miss your opportunity to see "one of the Cinemas most perfectly engineered devices for saying boo!"
