Annie: The Musical
Strand-Capitol Theatre
October 25
Leapin’ Lizards! Annie is back!

The legendary character Annie, her adventures, her dog, and her friends will be at York’s Strand Theatre on October 25.

Last at the Strand in 1991, "Annie" has long been a favorite for fans of all ages — which is why the Strand is making special efforts to make this night a great one for adults and children alike. In addition to the show, they’re providing a pajama party, too!

"We understand that some parents may be hesitant about bringing their children to the theatre on a school night," said Laura Sullivan, Director of Marketing and Public Relations. "With this in mind, we encourage parents to bring their children dressed in their pajamas for a Pajama Party with Annie starting 30 minutes before the curtain time of 7:30 p.m. … Understanding the needs of parents is an important part of making this weeknight performance a success." At the pajama party, the Strand will provide a cookies and milk bedtime snack; the Theatre will also provide a ‘school excuse slip’ to explain a child’s sleepiness the next day with a note that includes the message "Exposure to the arts is an important part of a well-rounded education."

Featuring such familiar classics as "Tomorrow," "It’s A Hard Knock Life," and "Easy Street," the musical has been a standard since its Broadway premiere in 1977. After a hugely successful year on tour, "Annie" will play over 100 cities in the U.S. and Canada during its second year.

Tickets are available by calling the Strand Box Office at 846-1111 or on-line at strandcapitol.org.
