Neil Young at HersheyPark |
|
| by
Lisa Hummel One of music’s most influential and legendary singer-songwriters is heading our way. On August 11, Neil Young will take the HersheyPark Stadium stage, performing both some of his greatest and newest hits, as he tours in support of his most recent release Silver and Gold.
Silver and Gold, released off of the Reprise label, is a collection of tracks gathered together after a three year ‘gestation period’ during which the disc went through three incarnations and various false starts as Young dabbled with different musical methods and recorded with Crosby, Stills, and Nash before arriving at the final version, which was released this spring. Perhaps best known for such hits as "Harvest Moon" and "Rockin’ in the Free World," Young alternates between the folk-rock sound of CSNY and the heavy guitar riffs akin to his sound of his ‘garage’ band, Crazy Horse, keeping his music fresh with a vitality and stage presence not evidenced in many of today’s acts. Young has secured himself a contemporary in the current music scene, attracting a new generation of fans by touring with the H.O.R.D.E. line-up, appearing on MTV Unplugged, headlining a bill with Sonic Youth, and releasing an album with Pearl Jam. Neil Young will be at the HersheyPark Stadium on August 11. Young will
share the stage with The Pretenders. For ticket information, call the
