Joins Ozzfest 2000

by Lisa Hummel

Interscope recording artists Shuvel have joined the more than 20 bands who are currently touring the country as part of Ozzfest 2000. In its fifth year, the Ozzy Osbourne-fronted festival is heading this way, stopping in Camden, New Jersey at the Blockbuster Entertainment Center on July 22.

Formed in 1997, Shuvel — vocalists Isaac Ayala and Jeff Hollinger, drummer Kyle Hollinger, bassist Carlos Sandoval, and guitarist Ryan Stuber — left great success in Wichita, Kansas for the bright lights of Los Angeles, where they met with producer Scott Ralston and recorded their debut album, which is set to be released August 22.

With a musical style complete with hard, aggressive rock and tight, phat beats somewhat reminiscent of Rage Against the Machine, the quintet has spent the past year on tour with Sevendust, Kittie, and Methods of Mayhem.

Joining Shuvel for Ozzfest 2000 will be Main Stage acts Ozzy, Pantera, Godsmack, Static-X, Incubus, Tommy Lee’s Methods of Mayhem, Queens of the Stone Age, P.O.D., and Second Stage acts Kittie, The Deadlights, TapRoot, Primer 55, and Crazy Town, among others.

Ozzfest 2000, with its ‘Never Neverland’ concourse of attractions, exhibitors, and exhibitionists, will be at Camden’s Blockbuster Entertainment Center on July 22 at 11 a.m. For ticket information, call TicketMaster at 856-338-9000 or go online: ticketmaster.com.
