Out To Lunch With Betty
One Woman's Relentless Search For The Best Lunches

Honeysuckle Café
2201 Market Street • Camp Hill, PA
972-8767

Tucked quietly into the newly remodeled Old Borough Hall in Camp Hill, the Honeysuckle Café serves up a great lunch at a moderate price.

Good company, quick and friendly service, and great food made for an enjoyable afternoon. Set in the newly remodeled Old Borough Hall, the Honeysuckle is owned by Cynthia Heiney and managed by her niece, Carisa. The food is prepared onsite. Basic lunch fare made by Cynthia and her niece, the menu caters to both the traditional hearty lunch bunch and those seeking lighter fare.

I had a great chicken salad sandwich. All sandwiches are offered on a variety of breads with a choice of multiple condiments — even lowfat mayo is offered — and a variety of vegetable toppings. I was delighted to see sprouts offered, even though I didn’t accept. My lunch partner had a Veggie #1 — sprouts, cheese, cukes and onions.

Set in a sparking clean environment, the service is deli-style. We ordered lunch and picked a table — all of which are bright and sunny from the windows on two sides. While looking out on the streets of Camp Hill isn’t necessarily exciting, the warmth of the bright sunshine is, and the cleanliness of the establishment reflected the brightness of the day. Original photographs by local artists decorate the walls and are offered for sale.

Don’t leave without taking a tour of the fun new businesses open in the building. Directly across from the Café, Blooms by Vickrey offers wonderful arrangements and great gift ideas. Upstairs, the extremes of the collecting market are offered with Funky Junque and Cordier’s Antiques. Funky Junque is just that-lots of fun accessories and ideas for the home with the friendliest proprietors around. Cordier’s Antiques are simply elegant, with a knowledgeable sales staff willing to tell about any piece in the shop. In the basement, visit One Good Woman for exotic coffees and teas from around the world.
