| Letters/Commentary Central PA Voices Their Thoughts and Opinions Dear Editor, In reference to Frank Pizzoli’s “Gotham City” column on the Medical Arts Building (February 17), I enjoyed the article very much. [Pizzoli] told it like it is. He missed one point however. The mayor runs the show. Unless we can convince him to develop the area and bring in tourists, nothing will happen. We need their money to stay in business. To convince him is a tough nut to crack, as he thinks he is doing a good job. The bottom line is the dollars are not here. We need to close the nuisance bars and make the general public feel comfortable shopping here. Right now they won’t touch this area. If he can crack that nut he is the better person. Chip Fissel, Midtown Business Owner via e-mail Dear Editor, The overwhelming element in my film Sees In Secret is the support of community. Neighbors treating one another the way they would like to be treated. It is in this spirit that I thank neighbor Frank Pizzoli for bringing more attention to my film, one that I gave practically everything I had (and continuing) to bring to fruition because I truly believe in the positive message that it brings. Pizzoli mentioned in his article, “Gay Rights and Hollywood Converge on Region” (February 3), that “forgiving them [gays] their fraility of being attracted to you … still works.” In order to forgive there would have to exist the presupposition of a sin occurring. Apparently Pizzoli saw a sin where I saw none. I invite my community of neighbors to please see Sees In Secret and let not another man judge for thee. Eric Spaar, Producer/Writer/Director, Sees In Secret, via e-mail Editor’s Note: If you would like to express your opinion to our readers, you may do so by faxing to: 236-0886, Attn: Editor, or via e-mail: Editor@MODEweekly.com.
