There’s nothing
like a good groundbreaking to bring everybody out on a cold,
fall day! Here, some City Council members join the Mayor and
Giant Food Stores executives in welcoming the 18th Giant Store
to the Greater-Harrisburg area — this time at Kline Plaza
Shopping Center. The newest store is expected to open in
spring of 2000. Can’t wait!

Making their way
through the streets of downtown ... kind of makes you think of
a beer commercial, doesn’t it? Well, it should. Here, the
Budweiser Clydesdales parade past the Capitol as part of their
week-long stay in the area. What beautiful horses ... what big
feet! |

Where’s
the beef? It looks like Chef Greg Lownes of TGIFriday’s
knows ... MODE’s cameras caught him as he was serving
up Happy Hour goer Steve Walker during the Friday’s at
5:01 review. Great work, Greg! |

Massa
Therapeutics’ Sharon Muzio and Shirley Arnold
pose for their mug shot during the March of Dimes
jail-a-thon at the Harrisburg East Mall. Let’s
hope that they raised enough charity ‘bail’ to
get them ‘back’ to work massaging the city!

General
Colin Powell addresses the crowd that gathered to
listen to him speak on the successes of
"America’s Promise" and the local
Tri-County Alliance, programs that are working
hand-in-hand to better America’s youth. To the
left of Powell is local student Keith Scott who
made use of the programs to become a stellar
scholar — Congratulations, Keith! |
