Letters to the Publisher

The following are letters to the publisher received over the course of the last month. The one immediately below was written on the back of the postcard pictured here.

Scot-
Great rag, your mag is! I do enjoy it. Gung Ho on the diet. Put this guy on your ‘frig and it will give you second thoughts about that last slice of pizza. Good Luck,

Jeff

Thanks Jeff. I apprecate all the encouragement I have received, although yours certainly does make its point.

To The Publisher:
The first time I picked up MODE magazine was last month at Media Play.
I thought it was great. Of all of the locally published papers, this one covered stuff that "I" wanted to know about. And in addition to that, the business and other "serious" columns were good, not just filler. I read it front to back, and kept it handy for the rest of the month, checking out a number of things mentioned. I couldn’t wait to grab this months issue. And now I am going to cut this short so I can get back to reading it. Keep up, guys, you’re doing good.

Geary Ritter via E-mail.

Dear Mr. Giambalvo:
Congratulations on an upbeat and interesting publication. As a resident in the mid-town area, it is nice to see another publication which recognizes the positive aspects of the Greater Harrisburg Area.

Best Wishes,
Gina H. McBean Community Relations, The State Museum of Pennsylvania

Hey Scot,
What’s up with your web site? What’s there looks great, but you don’t have everything in the magazine up on your site. Do you plan to ever do that?

Anonymous via E-mail

Well Anonymous, we’re trying. As a small start-up publication, our number one goal is to make sure that everything we do to put together the print edition every month goes smoothly. Franky, it’s a lot of work, and we just haven’t had time to keep up with the Internet side of the publication... until now. Recently MODE magazine joined up with a really sharp Internet HTML programmer, and we hope to have our entire site up, including all back issues, for the Capital Region Business Fair at the end of the month. Thanks for asking, we’re on it.

Dear Scot Giambalvo:
First, and most importantly, I wanted to compliment you on the great job that you and your staff are doing with MODE magazine. It is very exciting to see a paper that captures the essence of the area in such a positive way. I appreciate the spirit in which you seek to report mainstream as well as alternative places to go, things to see, and cultural and business info. in many genres.

Warmest Regards,
Andrea Riso via E-mail.

Scot:
Nice (Web) page. It looks as good as the magazine. I was so glad you printed the quote: "As my uncle Nick would say, anybody who don’t like this life is crazy" in your MODE@LARGE section. My uncle Nick and his friends were in their glory when they saw it! They are now MODE fans. Good luck to you and MODE in the future!!!!

Charles McD. via E-mail

Mr. Giambalvo,
I was a little disappointed when I could not find your MODE@ LARGE section in the September issue. I look forward to browsing through the photographs, wondering if I will find a familiar face. That section is truly unique to MODE, and I hope you plan to continue it in the future.

Sincerely,
Bob MacGinnes

Mr. MacGinnes, thank you for taking the time to share your feelings with our staff. We regret having to pull last month’s MODE@LARGE section, but we were under a space constraint, and something had to go. We enjoy the MODE@LARGE setion as much as our readers, belive me. We’re out and about almost every weekend taking pictures at the local retailers, restaurants, and bars.
